2026 BURNS NIGHT

Our 22nd Burns Night and stronger than ever!

64 guests joined us for our annual celebration of the immortal bard! From the whisky & ginger welome drinks for the Gathering to the closing Auld Lang Syne, there was never a dull moment (or a dry glass!). We were delighted to walcome old friends such as Martin and his crew, Dan, Duncan and more. Jana did a fantastic job bringing in many new guests as well such as a group from Finland!

Thanks again to Karel Klima for piping us in, Alistair Edwards and his electrifying ceiligh band, Jan Drastik leading the dancing mayhem, and the entire staff at the Villa Lana for super food and service!  

The address to the Haggis was done as usual by Alistair (Scots) and Jiri Knot (Czech).  Many other poems were read in Scots English, Czech and even Finnish!

Jana & Vasek were our super hosts for the event, and Jana managed to recuit a number of victims to do the poetry!

This year we were sponsorsed by Bruichladdich - the classic laddie fueling the evening! Vasek also hand imported genuine Scots Haggis!

Our charity auction took in a record breaking 122,000 CZK (>€5000) for our charities: our usual Adopce na dalku (adoption at a distance) and in addition this year we introduced Czech children's charities META and Nautis.
